Nice move having Stuart Gordon with you.
Of course, you're going to have to do "From Beyond" again, now.
Oh yeah, and ask him for Barbara Crampton's phone number for me....

That Tor.com 12 Days of Cthulhu thing is depressingly bad.

Aw, sorry to disappoint.

Once again, the podcast makes the story MUCH more interesting...

There is a PHENOMINAL audo book of Reanimator, read by Jeffery Combs himself that I highly recommend you guys listen to. Combs reads the story beautifully.

That is one of my favorite audio books also. Really the best casting in both movie and audio book. I wish I could have seen him in the Poe play.

Awesome podcast guys! It was great to hear from Stuart, I'm a fan of his stuff, not just Re-Animator & From Beyond. You should've asked him though, how it feels to have a porno spoof done of one of his films. A few years back me and some friends were surfing the net for Re-Animator stuff, and found a little something called "Re-Penetrator." We watched the trailer and threw up for a good 10 minutes straight - I don't recommend watching it, but knowing that H. P. Lovecraft (indirectly) inspired a porno flick does put a strange smile on my face.
On the issue of real life zombies though, apparently this is already a reality. I remember a 2005 article where Australian scientists were reviving clinically dead dogs by replacing their blood with saline solution and shocking them back to life. And they said within a few years they'd be doing it on humans too!

...And one more thing I figured I'd share; I was just reading "Trainspotting," and found a nice little Lovecraft mention. Mind you, this is written in Scots English, so you have to read it phonetically, with a thick Scottish accent:
"...The train journey up wis uneventful; jist the wey ah wanted it. Some Fall tapes oan the Walkman, four cans ay lager n ma H.P. Lovecraft book. Nazi cunt, auld H.P., but he kin spin a good yarn..."
hahaha. so true.

What a great quote!

I have to say, for a man of science, West sure fails to make good experimental observations. You think he would notice that, after the 7th or 8th time, bringing strong, vigorous people back from the dead is a very very bad idea. He should have stuck to the weak and listless....

There's a Jeffrey Combs reading of Reanimator. Unfortunately its 140 dollars on amazon - whoever published it isn't putting it out there anymore. If anyone can somehow manage to find it for sale at a reasonable price, that would be awesome beyond imagining.
